The Kerala Development and Innovation Strategy Council, (K-DISC) is a strategic think-tank and advisory body constituted by the Government of Kerala. K-DISC aims at bringing out path-breaking strategic plans that reflect new directions in technology, product and process innovations, social shaping of technology and creating a healthy and conducive ecosystem for fostering innovations in the State.
The various objectives of KDISC are promotion of innovation, establishment of a supportive eco system, enhancing of innovation spirit and talent, specifically young talent, developing systems for translational Engineering in the State jointly with universities, etc. We are actively participating in Young Innovators Programme which aims to empower future innovators to innovate new products, services or models to meet emerging requirements, unarticulated needs, or existing market needs of the society more effectively through an innovative challenge. Also, KMEA is joining hands with other higher educational institutions for KDISC- Innovation cluster program to support various MSME clusters. Two funded projects (Edathala Panchayath Kudumbasree and Aluva Plastics) were awarded as part of One District One Idea (ODOI)- MSME innovation cluster development programme.
