Equal Opportunity Cell plays an important role to ensure opportunities for inclusive, equal and quality higher education to the Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs) students. The Cell will be functioning as a statutory umbrella cell over the existing SC/ST Cell, OBC Cell, or any other similarly functioning Cell.
Objectives
The Cell shall protect the constitutionally guaranteed rights, dignity, safety and security of the students belonging to SEDGs and also to ensure them equalizing access and opportunities to pursue higher education with the help of the existing statutory bodies such as SC/ST Cell and OBC Cell.
Scope
- Gender Identity – Girls and Transgenders
- Social backwardness Identity- Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes
- Educational and Economic Backward Identity.
- Minority Identity – Religious and Linguistic Minorities
- Persons with Disabilities and Benchmark Disabilities
- Vulnerable and Low social economic conditions community
- Community from Less developed, poor -access and disadvantaged locations.
