Department of Electrical and electronics engineering

Head Of Department

Dr. REENAView Profile

Established in 2009, the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering has been successful in nurturing experts through sound academic support and commitment to research. The teaching resources, dedicated staff, sophisticated laboratories and library, efficiently meet the requirements of undergraduate and post graduate students here. The annual intake is 30 for under graduate students and 18 for post graduate students. The program also entertains a lateral entry for Diploma holders as per AICTE norms in the 3rd semester.

Vision

To grow in the field of Electrical & Electronics Engineering through academics and research and also to improve underprivileged sections by moulding them into technically empowered engineers with innovative ideas and ethical values to serve the society.

Mission
  • To mould students into employable electrical & electronic engineers.
  • To provide good quality teaching blended with practical engineering skills to inculcate analytical thinking in students.
  • To ingrain the desire to pursue higher studies and be a lifelong learner.
  • To imbibe ethical values in students to transform them into successful professionals.
Electrical and electronics Engineering graduates will be able to:
  • PSO 1 : Apply fundamental knowledge to identify, design and investigate various problems of electrical and electronic systems in the industry.
  • PSO 2 : Apply electrical and electronic principles in the design and development of socially beneficial projects.
  • PSO 3 : Apply knowledge of power systems and electrical machines to electrical generation, transmission, distribution and utilization systems.

  • PEO 1 : To prepare students with the ability to develop better solutions for problems related to Electrical and Electronics Engineering in industry and society.
  • PEO 2 : To inculcate in students professional ethics, effective communication skills, social commitment, ability to work in a team enabling them to have successful careers in diverse cultural and interdisciplinary backgrounds.
  • PEO 3 : To help students recognize the need to pursue higher studies and to adapt positively to ever changing working conditions with lifelong learning.

To mould students in professional carrier and/or post graduate programmes by providing solid foundation in mathematical, scientific and engineering fundamentals. To inculcate professional and ethical attitude, team work and communication skills, multidisciplinary approach and an ability to relate electrical engineering issues to broader social context. To instill self-confidence and leadership qualities to become innovative engineers and entrepreneurs, with an enthusiasm for lifelong learning.

Electrical Machines Lab

Electrical Machines is a core subject in Electrical Engineering. The lab sets the arena to analyze and design various AC and DC machines. The machines include DC generator, DC motor, transformer, AC generator and different AC motors.

Electrical Measurements Lab

The parameters namely voltage, current, power etc. need to be properly measured. The various measuring instruments have their own principle of operation. In this lab, all these are learned with a practical blend so that they can be calibrated and used accurately for measuring these parameters in more complex circuits. Almost all the latest evolutions in measurements are done practically by students under the guidance of experienced staffs.

Power Electronics Lab

With the advent of power electronic devices, the control of machines and electrical appliance has been made easy. The lab has the latest Power Electronic devices and training kits. With the support of efficient lab staffs, the students are capable of doing practical experiments and their project works. It is an area where lots of research ideas can be designed, analyzed and implemented successfully. These researches can be used for the benefit of human kind.

Control & Simulation Lab

Control system manages, commands, directs or regulates the behavior of systems using control loops. The lab has the most modern devices and instruments to indulge and learn the various aspects in the control of other systems. MATLAB is the tool of choice for designing and simulating the control systems.

Electrical Workshop

The basics of electrical engineering are learned here. All the branches of engineering come to this lab to have an insight into the concepts of Electrical engineering so that they can have a strong idea of the basic laws governing electrical system. The lab is equipped with up to date equipment and properly maintained and managed by experienced lab staff.
