The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI&DS) at KMEA Engineering College was established in 2024. It offers a B.Tech program in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, affiliated with APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). This program is designed to mould the budding engineers to become professionals in the rapidly growing fields of AI and Data Science, equipping them to tackle the challenges of the technology-driven world.

The comprehensive curriculum encompasses essential topics such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science and Deep Learning, providing both foundational knowledge and hands-on experience. Students are trained to apply these skills effectively to solve real-world problems.

” It gives me immense pleasure to head the department of Computer Science and Engineering under the prestigious institution, KMEA Engineering College. Department is distinguished with dedicated faculties in the core areas of Computer Science. Our department believes in high quality education by inculcating many value added courses to enhance their career prospects. The students of the computer science and engineering are highly demanded by the recruiters of the top companies. During the course, students will be acquiring knowledge in computer fundamentals, its architecture, algorithms, programming languages, skills of effective program writing, computer networking, database management, software engineering and testing, artificial intelligence and more. Our department always promote the practical experience, employability skills and leadership qualities among students through in-house workshops, international certification courses, internship programs and industry institute collaboration. The very motto of our department is to find students worthy of organisation and society. The distinguished teaching faculty and excellent infrastructure along with student friendly environment with a Training and Placement Cell ensures a bright future to students. Computer science Engineering graduates will be able to:

  • PO 1 Engineering Knowledge : Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO 2 Problem Analysis : Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO 3 Design / Development of Solution : Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO 4 Conduct investigation of complex problems : Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO 5 Modern Tool Usage : Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO 6 The Engineering and Society : Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • PO 7 Environmental and Sustainability : Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • PO 8 Ethics : Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
