TECHNICAL TALKS CONDUCTED BY EEE DEPARTMENT
Talk on Entrepreneurship

"Talk on Entrepreneurship" on National Entrepreneurship Day conducted on 9/11/23 by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

Talk on Influence and Application of Machine Learning in Electrical Industry:

The talk session started at 10.00am with 120 participants on 24th March 2023 at KCOA seminar hall. After the welcome speech Dr. M V Rajesh Maliyeckal started with a discussion on fundamentals of machine learning. He elaborately discussed the different machine learning applications associated with the electrical industry. The talk session ended at 12.30PM after the question answer session with vote of thanks by Mr. Muhammed Savad T M, President of EEE Association.

Talk on Electric Vehicle - The Future Automobile Technology

The electric vehicle talk session was organized to educate the students about the benefits of electric vehicles and to dispel any myths or misconceptions surrounding them. The session was attended by EEE students and faculties. The session aimed to educate the audience about the technology and benefits of electric vehicles. The speakers provided an overview of how electric vehicles work and discussed the environmental and economic benefits of using them,charging infrastructure..The speakers addressed concerns and questions from the audience about electric vehicles, such as their range, charging infrastructure, and cost. overall, the electric vehicle talk session was successful in educating the audience about electric vehicles and addressing their concerns and questions. The session generated a lot of interest among the attendees, and many expressed their intention to consider an electric vehicle in the future.

Techno Meet 2022

Ms. Sabeena Salam delivered the welcome speech. A Talk on pathway to a professional life was delivered by Dr. Reena Sebastian, Professor and Dean, Student and Staff Affairs. Ms. Neenu B, Assistant Professor, delivered a session regarding upcoming trends in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. An Alumni talk and a LED lamp making workshop was conducted by Mr. Muhammed Jaseem and Mr. Muhammed Aslam.
A session on “Inspiring young minds: An Approach to Startup” was conducted by the Electrical & Electronics Department of KMEA Engineering College on 20/08/22 for higher secondary students. It was a one and half hour offline interactive session scheduled at 1.30pm. The session was handled by Mr. Abdul Hafis, Home Automation Consultant, Wozart Technologies. The session gave a clear view of creating a business plan and Pitch the plan to venture capitalists or angel investors to get funding and also Launch the business and start selling.
Dr. Fassela C K delivered the vote of thanks. The session was very informative and interactive and it was concluded at 4.00pm.

Webinar – B.Tech to IAS the journey

The talk session started at 10.00am with 120 participants on 24th March 2023 at KCOA seminar hall. EEE Association day ‘MINNAL 2K21’

Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, KMEA Engineering College conducted EEE Association day ‘MINNAL 2K21’ at college auditorium 4/12/21.Sahal Saleem,President of EEE association delivered the welcome speech. Dr. Reena Sebastian, HoD of EEE department, delivered the presidential address. Our chief guest Mr. Adoney T John, Orator and Research scholar inaugurated the event ‘MINNAL 2K21’ and launched the logo of EEE association.

Arts Festival ‘Exuberance’

Exuberance, arts festival on an online platform, was organized for EEE students with the technical support from students and faculty from 𝟮𝟱 - 𝟯𝟬 𝘁𝗵 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭.It was an experience at an altogether different level, got inaugurated by Big Boss fame Adoney T John. The show was curtain-raised by Karikku fame Lolan (Sabareesh Sajjin, Alumni of EEE Department). It was a week long entertainment with varied programs like debate, quiz, solo dance, solo song,treasure hunt, spell bee etc.

Industrial Visit

An Industrial visit to POLYCAB India LTD,Ernakulam was organized by the EEE Department on 11th December 2021. 44 students and 2 faculties visited and interacted with the Industry experts to understand the complete range of electrical solutions ,current market scenarios, latest most-demanding technologies etc. In this visit students were very eagerly waiting for listening to industrial higher authorities.

Techno Camp, 2021

A Five Day techno camp was organized by the Department of EEE on the 1st June 2021-5th June2021. The workshop was organized for plus two students. 82 Students from 14 schools actively participated in the workshop. In this workshop we have planned to make students understand different career opportunities, procedure to appear for those careers, different competitive exams and also planned to make them understand the importance of having a goal and passion and hard work to achieve the desired goal.
For that we have involved some social games/general quiz ,surprise quizes in kahoot APP and shown motivational video clips ,then a session of introduction to robotics ,an emerging stream and best B.tech project present

Orientation Day For Ist Year B.Tech TRANSIRE 2021

The Orientation-cum-Induction programme for the I year B.Tech EEE students joined in our college has been celebrated on 13-10-2021 as department wise via online platform. Dr.Reena Sebastian HOD.EEE, who motivated the students as to how great heights can be scaled even in adverse situations, through uncompromising goal setting, hard work, dedication and determination. Prof. sabeena Salam and Prof. Neenu B who have inspired the students with a general orientation to Electrical Engineering education ,awareness on opportunities available for the deserving and About ‘ KMEA ,a virtual campus visit’.The parents and the freshly joined students attended the programme with great enthusiasm. Grand spectacles of the teachers symbolically imparting the light of knowledge to the students through kindling the lights in great procession, best projects presentation and cultural events were the high-lights of the day.

EFFECT OF CLIMATIC CHANGE

A talk was conducted on the topic “Effect of Climatic Change” by Dr. Shaiju, Department of Atmospheric Science, CUSAT on 25th February 2020. The talk enumerated the need to be aware of the harm which we unknowingly do to harm the environment which in turn cause a drastic malignant effect on the Climatic conditions.

SCOPE OF ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING

A talk was conducted on the topic “Scope of Electrical Engineering” by our Alumni Mohammed Unaise P U on 26th February 2020. He is a successful entrepreneur and gives a positive support to KMEA as it is his almameter. The talk was interesting and the students were let into the opportunities the Electrical field hold for them once they go out in search of jobs. A very positive interacting session.

BASIC ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IN AN INDUSTRY

A talk was conducted to celebrate Deshiya Shasthra Dhinam “ Basic Electrical System in an Industry” by Prashanth Kumar, Electrical Department , FACT on 28th February 2020. An excellent informative session pertaining to the current trends in the practical arena of the electrical system.

  • The webinar titled as ‘Learn a new technical skill-A practical scheduling approach’ conducted on 27 th April 2021 at 2pm via Google meet by Mr. Shankar J .
  • The webinar titled as ‘Success through Power Electronics and Drives’ conducted on 9th June 2021 at 10 am via Google meet by Dr.P.Muthukumar. He discussed the importance of higher studies in the field of Power Electronics. and the technology associated with Power Electronics.
  • The webinar titled as ’Btech to IAS..The journey’ is conducted to give awareness about the basics of IAS. Also experience is shared by eminent personalities.

WORKSHOPS
ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON EXTENSION BOARD MAKING

The first venture of our methodology of practical based subject learning was making “Extension board”. The students of EEE department made high quality extension boards under the supervision of some senior students, teachers, lab instructors. Inadvertently, during the sessions, officers from electrical inspectorate visited the venue (as part of their inspection in our college) and they noticed and appreciated the effort of our students. The programme was a great success and students enjoyed and was inspired.

ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON LED LAMP MAKING

LED lamp manufacturing workshop was guided by Rtd. Er. Gopinathan and Mr. Sreekumar of KSEB. The training was conducted for EEE students and they assembled LED lamps with help of external guides. In the conducting session Principal and Vice-Principal appreciated the students and all the staff members. The sale of extension board was inaugurated by Principal.

TWO DAYS WORKSHOP ON BASIC ELECTRICAL ENGG. AND ELECTRICAL MACHINES

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Giby Chacko, Project Engineer, ARVIN Technologies, Kochi on 10-8-2017 and 11-8-2017. Students were taught how to maintain and repair electrical appliances and electrical machines. Also they were taught how to connect electrical circuits and repairing minor or major faults in the circuits and motor rewinding both theoretically and practically.

COUNSELING AND MOTIVATION PROGRAM

The present generation students have a plethora of career options and they must channelize their efforts to make an excellent career choice that suits their talent and aptitude. This program brings students to proper channel for achieving a better career. This interactive session was led by Dr. Viji Ramakrishnan, Counsellor and Motivational Speaker, Mar Athanasius College Association on 19-8-2017.

TALK ON TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF CIAL

The talk covered the technical aspects of the International and domestic terminals of Cochin International Airport Limited. CIAL has three terminals. With the commissioning of Terminal 3, Cochin Airport became India’s 4th largest airport after Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata with a very large built up area for commercial operations. It was a highly informative talk done by Mr. A.C.K Nair, Director of CIAL on 26-8-2017.

AN INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO UDUPI POWER PLANT

The sixth semester students went for an Industrial Visit organized by the Electrical & Electronics Engineering Department to Udupi Power Plant on 12-03-2018. Udupi Power Corporation Limited is a 2 X 600 MW imported coal based power project in the Udupi District of Karnataka.

TALK ON ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING TODAY AND TOMORROW

This talk was aimed at making the students aware of the present and future career opportunities in Electrical Engineering. It was held on 27/11/2018. The resource person was Dr. Shaji Jacob , Chartered Engineer and Energy Consultant. TALK ON IAS Talk on motivating the students to develop a competitive attitude along with sound academic base with quality teaching and individual attention along with a comprehensive approach towards civil service preparation. The talk was done by Simon Tharakan, Head marketing,Kochi Branch Conflate of Integrated studies Pvt. Ltd. On 13/2/2019

AN INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO BENCHMARK TEA FACTORY

The second year students went on an Industrial Visit on 16/2/2019. The factory is open to people where you can see how the tea and chocolates are made. And finally buy the tea during exit.

CIAL VISIT

All the students of EEE family went for a visit on October 23rd 2019 to Cochin International Airport for industrial interaction. The students had an enriching and educative experience of the Solar power plant near to the airport which is the basic and main provider of Electricity to the Airport. The practical session was conducted by young engineers working in CIAL and among them were Alumni members of our college.

IDAMALAYAR HYDRO ELECTRIC PROJECT

The second year students went for an Industrial visit to Idamalayar Hydro Electric Project on October 19th 2019. They could get an insight into the different aspects of power system engineering so as to correlate it with their studies and enhance their practical knowledge and also get a visual aspect of their theoretical papers.


OUR PRIDE

The world record of “maximum push-ups on 3 steel glasses in 30 seconds” is achieved by Mohammed Sahad M.S. of S6 EEE on 1st june 2021.he also got appreciation from India “Book of Record”.

  • Abdul Hafis of S7 EEEsecured first position in Research Project Demonstration Contest as part of Starc Expo organised by IEEE IA/IE/PELs Jt.chapter Kerala.
  • Resia Rehmath C K, Technical staff was the Ernakulam District Panchayath Member from Alangad Division from 2015 to 2020. She was awarded by Kendriya Hindi Mahavidyalayam for her selfless contribution to the development of Alangad Gramapanchayath,a number of social activities such as Oqui Cyclone calamities relief division, flood relief, covid 19 etc.
  • Binthul Huda A of S2.M.Tech placed in UST Global.
  • Aseeba T A of S8 B.Tech placed in TCS.

Congratulation to Shilpa K Satheesh and Divya Raj on securing second position in “Step N Synchro” held as part of the National Level Techno-Cultural fest conducted at TKM College of Engineering, Kollam.

A team of creative students from S8 EEE, secured first prize for “Best Short Film” on the topic Energy Conservation held at Ahalia Engineering College in Association with IEEE. The name of the film is “SWITCH”.

Alphin Robert was given the first prize for Canvas Painting Competition “ARTVIALE” which was held in the college on 10th March 2020.

KMEA band team was never complete without the musical and joyful presence of Shaharazmon, Vishak and Athul Antony trio. Everlasting Rhythm Of EEE Department – Backbone Of Kmea Music Band “MELOMANIAC”
