Faculty Development Programme

The department of Civil Engineering had conducted a three day Faculty Development Program on the topic "Sustainable Urban Mobility and Public Transport" from January 18th to January 20th 2023. The program was inaugurated by Mr. V S Sanjay Kumar, Principal Scientist & Head, NATPAC. Various sessions were handled by eminent personalities from Transportation Engineering field. The faculties from various engineering and architecture colleges in Kerala had participated in the event.


Hands to Nature

As part of Civil Engineering Students Association (CESA), a training session on E-waste Management and a logo launch on E- waste campaign -”Hands To Nature” was organized on 14 th February 2020.Mr. Kabeer B Haroon, President Operations, G J Nature Care delivered the talk and Director Dr. Amar Nishad T M,KMEA Engineering College, launched the logo.

Break the Chain Initiative

Third year student, Vinay Krishna of Civil Engineering Department designed and donated pedal operated hand sanitizer to Paravur Taluk Hospital in the presence of V D Satheeshan, MLA.

Rebuild Kerala Initiative

As part of implementing the National Urban Mission scheme under Central Govt., KMEA Engineering College has been selected as one among the four Engineering colleges in the State for preparing a Master plan for transforming selected GramaPanchayaths into SMART VILLAGES.

Smart India Hackathon 2020

Sana M , student of eighth semester, Civil Engineering Department was one among the team- Expermob which was selected to the final round of Smart India Hackathon 2020.

CESA organized a MIME on the theme "Leaving no one behind"as part of World Water day March 22nd.

TEKLA software training programme for s8 Civil organized by CESA on 15 03 2019.

As part of Civil Engineering Students Association (CESA), Civil Department organized a Technical talk on “Recent Innovations in Civil Engineering” by Dr. Anil Joseph, Honorable Secretary, IGS on 19th February 2019.The first edition of monthly article ‘ EL CONSTRUCTOR’ was released by honorable chief guest.

The Department of Civil Engineering organised an Eight-day Internship program on ‘Quantity Surveying’ by Vettoor School of Technical training for the final year students from 9th July 2018 to 21st July 2018.The different sessions on Project management, Estimation and safety procedures along with site visits were handled by Ms. Rakhi R and Ms. Reeba Suresh.

The Department of Civil Engineering organised a three-day Internship program on ‘Total Station Survey’ by ALG International Institute of Technology for the fifth semester students on 9th, 12th and 13th July 2018. The sessions were handled by Mr.Yousef Rihas, Mr.Vishnu K.C, Mr. Joseph Antony, Mr. Prabhakar, Mr. Sameel K.S, Mr. Binil, Mr. Sonu , Mr.Akshay G.

The Department of Civil Engineering organised a One-day Internship program on ‘CAD, BIM & FUSION 360′ by Tritech Design Academy for the third semester students on 9th July 2018. The sessions were handled by Ms.Athira Aneesh, Mr.Joemon John , Ms.Jomise Jose and Mr.Arun Joy.

One day internship was given to the students of third semester on basic construction management, drawing study, area calculation and section development by TREE INSTITUTE OF CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT (TICMAT) .Students were trained how to read a civil engineering drawing, to calculate area of building and section development. They were also given basic knowledge in construction management. Five day internship on total tation survey, including advanced study on LIDAR, robotic survey, GPS positioning system, post processing of survey data in system was given to fifth semester students of civil engineering. Students have done the topographic survey of the kmea campus and plotted the same.
