B.Tech in Safety and Fire Engineering discipline (4 years course) is commencing in KMEA during the academic year 2020 – 2021 with an intended total intake of 30 students. This programme envisions to offer students with the technical knowledge and practical expertise to create an environment of safety against fire. The discipline of fire and safety explores different means of combating fire and other unsafe aspects of any engineered structure. Fire engineers’ design sectors are at the forefront of ensuring that fire safety is maintained and improved without exhausting natural resources or destructing the environment with a vision to create safety awareness in each and every individual in the nation and to empower safety professionals to safeguard our nation.
The career scope of the discipline of safety and fire engineering is humongous as the safety criterion is becoming mandatory in all organizations and industries worldwide. In this context, KMEA pledges the commitment to our mission of reaching an excellent position in the sector in providing the job market with safety engineers to meet the requirements of safety industries – national and international. We also offer added training courses like NEBOSH and IOSH certifications which support the students in reaching their job aspirations. The students also get hands-on training in the use of fire extinguishers through various training sessions and mock drills. The Safety and Fire Department of KMEA is equipped with experienced faculty and full-fledged modern laboratory with adequate research facilities.
