Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first, largest, non-profit and most professionally managed association of and for IT professionals in India. The seed for the Computer Society of India (CSI) was first sown in the year 1965 with a handful of IT enthusiasts who were a computer user group and felt the need to organize their activities. They also wanted to share their knowledge and exchange ideas on what they felt were a fast emerging sector. Today the purposes of the Society are scientific and educational directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science & IT. CSI celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2015. At CSI, professionals meet to exchange views and information, to learn and share ideas. All matters of interest to the Industry and the Profession are discussed in regular forums held at the chapters spread throughout the country at different cities and towns. The Society also has Student branches established all over the country. The activities of Chapter/Student branches include lecture meetings, seminars, conferences, training programmes and visits to installations. The Society also encourages and assists professionals to maintain the integrity and competence of the profession and foster a sense of partnership amongst members. The Society envisages scientific and educational purposes directed towards the advancement of the theory and practice of computer science, computer engineering and technology, systems science and engineering, information processing and related arts and sciences.
CSI student chapter of KMEA was inaugurated on 27th August 2010 by Mr Siddhartha Bhattacharya CEO, Infopark, Cochin. The mission of the CSI is to facilitate research, knowledge sharing, learning and career enhancement for all categories of IT professionals, while simultaneously inspiring and nurturing new entrants into the industry and helping them to integrate into the IT community.Various activities were organized under CSI.
ALUMNI PROJECT -  Hospital Management System (HMS)
Alumni of KMEA plays a major role in the overall development of students. Industrial Experts in alumni assisted students in developing a project, Hospital Management System(HMS). Students from S8 CS implemented the HMS after fruitful discussions with alumni.
A G C Compiler -‘Ajmal’s Game Compiler’
Final year student of Computer Science Department, Ajmal designed a compiler for creating graphical games for PC within short span of time. AGC have a standard program structure to specify a computer game. The compiler inputs a structured text file. The text file is an object oriented form of a computer game.  The major feature is the use of less number of lines of coding for any kind of games.  If a game is coded in Java then it require a minimum of 200 lines of code even for a simple game, where as in AGC, it only require 20 lines of code.  A game may include a number of images, sounds and a program structure which specifies the logic of the game. The AGC compiler can translate the program structure into a pure Java code and then into byte code and the game is run automatically by the Java interpreter.
