DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRONICS AND COMMUNICATION

Established in the year 2002, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is committed to providing quality professional education to aspiring engineers. The department has an annual intake of 60 students for the B Tech course and 24 students for the MTech course. The department has well experienced and dedicated faculty members and aims to impart sound knowledge and awareness in the latest developments in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Electronics & Communication Engineering deals with the electronic devices, circuits, communication equipments like transmitter, receiver, integrated circuits. It also deals with basic electronics, analog and digital transmission & reception of data, audio and video, microprocessors, satellite communication, microwave engineering, antennae and wave progression. It aims to deepen the knowledge and skills of the students on the basic concepts and theories that will equip them in their professional work involving analysis, systems implementation, operation, production, and maintenance of the various applications in the field of Electronics and Communications Engineering.

Electronics and communication has a lot of scope in this modern era of wide application of electronics. Electronic engineers are the backbone of all components developed like integrated chips, transistors, fiber optics etc. Electronics engineers have achieved ample development in areas such as telecommunication, health care, automation, signal processing, satellite technology, microelectronics, nanotechnology etc. Power Electronics, and other industries like steel, petroleum and chemical industry, directing control and testing production process etc. Those who wish to go for higher studies can opt M.Tech and Ph.D after qualifying GATE exam.

M.Tech in Communication Engineering

The department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is offering a post graduate course in Communication Engineering. This course aims at providing a sound exposure to advanced areas of communication like Digital Communication, RF MEMS, High performance communication networks, high frequency circuit design, Satellite communication, Advanced Digital signalprocessing, WirelessCommunication etc.
State of the art laboratories have been set up for conducting experiments in areas like Optical communication, microwave communication, Signal processing, Image processing etc. A research cum project lab is also set up for facilitating the students to do their projects in house. All the students are encouraged to present seminars in topics related to their areas of study. The number of students admitted each year is 18.
