The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering was established in the year 2002 with an intake of  60 students. The Department has highly qualified and competent faculty members in the areas of Opto Electronics, Digital Image Processing, Applied Electronics, Digital Electronics, Microwave Communication, and VLSI & Embedded Systems. They are well experienced and dedicated with a strong commitment to engineering education.

Department mission:

To develop the innovative engineering skills of our students, enabling them to keep pace with and to be highly sought-after, in the rapidly advancing Electronics and Communications industry.

The department has well equipped state of the art laboratories to provide the students with necessary and sufficient backing of practical knowledge, besides encouraging them to try out their innovative research and development ideas. The different labs are
• Systems Lab equipped with MATLAB, Xinilx, FPGA kits etc.
• Communication Engineering Lab equipped with modern analog and digital modulation kits.
• Microwave and Optical Communication Lab equipped with Klystron and Gunn Microwave setup, Analog and Digital Optical Link kits, Advanced antenna systems etc.
• Microprocessors and Microcontrollers Lab equipped with 8085, 8086, 8051 processors, Embedded Development kits and IDE.
• Circuits Lab with modern electronic equipments like Digital Storage Oscillope, Function Generators, etc.

The department has a library of its own with books in all disciplines relating to Electronics & Communication.

The class rooms are also equipped with the latest audio visual teaching aids.

As a jewel in the crown, the department has an ‘Incubation Centre’ which is first of its kind among self financing engineering colleges.

The department has achieved excellent results in the university examinations and also has a very good placement record. Experts from the industry are periodically invited to give lectures/demonstrations to the students on the latest developments in the field. Students are given exposure to industries by industrial visits and industrial training session. As part of the faculty empowerment programme, the staff members are encouraged to attend seminars and workshops in the different areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering.
Electronics and Communication Engineering course give enormous job opportunities in electronics and software companies. Electronic engineering is a rapidly advancing profession and is the driving force behind the development of the world’s information technology. Electronic engineers create, design and develop everyday devices like the mobile phone, portable music devices and computers.
Department strength
The department has 26 teaching faculty and 7 technical staff. The student strength in B-tech is 358 and 48 in M-tech.
A group of 4 students of 2012 batch designed and constructed a wheel chair “Flying gladiator” and gifted this to a handicapped student of our college.
Almost 60% of our students have got placements in different core companies like Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL), Intel, Samsung Electronics, Sony, Toshiba, Philips Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, LG Electronics, Nokia, AMD, CISCO, Nvdia, HP, IBM and Huwaie. 20% of pass out students have got admission in reputed universities, inside and outside India, for pursuing higher studies.
