Since his 2005 appointment as professor, Dr.Rajan Verghese has led the college dedicated to engineering education on par with the national standards.

Dr. Rajan Verghese started his career as a faculty of Govt. Engineering Colleges, since 1965. He has worked in capacities as professor, head of the department and principal. He worked in the capacity of the Joint Director, Industry Institute Interaction Cell under the Directorate of Technical Education. He retired as Principal, Govt. Engineering College, Thrissur. He has held various positions like presidents of a few technical organizations in Kerala.

He was instrumental in stream lining the conduct of the I year classes. The first year students, who are new to the professional course, were guided by a team of dedicated faculty members under his able leader ship. In addition to the duties of the Dean, he is also the head of the department of mechanical Engineering, started functioning from the year 2010. Under him a consultation centre for the designing, prototyping and production of machine elements is being envisaged.

Dr. Rajan Verghese did his graduate and Post Graduate studies in engineering colleges under the Kerala University. He was awarded the PhD from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras in the year 1983. He is a life member of Powder Metallurgy Association of India and also life member of Indian Society of Technical Education. He has coordinated summer schools for engineering college teachers. Quite a few numbers of papers, including the ones presented in international conferences, are to his credit. He used to be evaluator of M.Tech and PhD theses of different universities. He used to deliver invited technical talks during seminars, short-term courses etc. He has guided around fifteen M Tech research projects.
